On 19 October, the Mission of Switzerland to the EU, the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences and SwissCore organise an event on ‘Monitoring causes and consequences of biodiversity change’.
Global biodiversity loss and degradation of ecosystems continue at an alarming speed despite ongoing counter-efforts on the national, European and international levels. This Science Briefing will focus on biodiversity monitoring activities, and it will assess where future activities are needed. The keynote speech of Prof. Dr. Fischer on ‘Causes and consequences of biodiversity change: monitoring and knowledge gaps’, will be followed by a discussion with panel members of the European Commission, the European Partnership Biodiversa+, Europa Biodiversity Observation Network (EuropaBon) and other representatives.
