Swiss Science Briefing: ‘Monitoring causes and consequences of biodiversity change’

19 October 2022 @ 16:30 18:00

This event was organised by the Mission of Switzerland to the European Union, the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences and SwissCore.

Global biodiversity loss and degradation of ecosystems continue at an alarming speed despite ongoing counter-efforts on the national, European and international levels. This Science Briefing focused on biodiversity monitoring activities, and it assessed where future activities are needed. The keynote speech of Prof. Dr. Fischer on ‘Causes and consequences of biodiversity change: monitoring and knowledge gaps’, was followed by a discussion with panel members of the European Commission, the European Partnership Biodiversa+, Europa Biodiversity Observation Network (EuropaBon) and other representatives.
