Welcome Sarah Bühler, our new Advisor for Research

It is a pleasure to announce that Sarah Bühler will join SwissCore on 1 October 2021 as our new European Advisor for Research.

Sarah currently works as a Project Manager at the Latin-American-Swiss Center of the University of St. Gallen, where she is heading a team in charge of the Leading House for the promotion of research cooperation with the Latin American Region, commissioned by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation. This work brought her in close contact with Swiss research actors and provided her with a deep understanding of international research collaboration, including the linkages to EU programmes.

Previously, Sarah has worked in various positions in the private sector in Spain and Switzerland after having gained experiences in diplomacy as a trainee at the Swiss embassies in Uruguay and Australia as well as at the Latin American Integration Association. She holds a licentiate in translation and interpretation as well as a master’s degree in international relations and is concluding her PhD at the University of St. Gallen. Sarah looks forward to her new role as European Advisor for Research at SwissCore, aiming to support the Swiss research community and to foster stronger Swiss-European collaboration in research.

Sarah Bühler succeeds Rahel Byland, who will take up her new position as the S&T Counsellor at the Swiss Mission to the EU (see SwissCore article).

The SwissCore team is very much looking forward to welcoming Sarah in Brussels this October.
