On 2 September, Saloni Mittal will start a six-month traineeship at SwissCore.
Saloni recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Zurich. She wrote her bachelor’s thesis on the diverging voting preferences of first- and second-generation immigrants in Switzerland, examining the impact of socialisation and integration. During her studies, she spent a semester abroad at the National University of Singapore, where she delved into political issues from a Southeast Asian perspective. Additionally, her involvement in the university’s Model United Nations further developed her interest in international relations and diplomacy.
Alongside her studies, Saloni gained practical experience working for the ETH Alumni Association, where she managed events and edited reports for member organisations. She also worked as a Marketing Assistant for a Swiss automotive startup. These experiences allowed her to witness firsthand how bridging knowledge networks can drive innovation and fostered her interest in European innovation policies and programmes.
During her time at SwissCore, Saloni will support the European Advisor for Innovation and the team in daily activities, while also focusing on a dedicated project.
