Time to say goodbye to our trainee, Lea Bünter

After six months, SwissCore bids farewell to Lea, Trainee for research.

Lea started her traineeship in September 2021, following her graduation from the University of St Gallen with a Bachelor in International Affairs. She came to Brussels with the expectations to gather some work experience and to deepen her knowledge on European Research Policy.

During her time at SwissCore, she followed EU digital policy with a special focus on the Digital Europe Programme, artificial intelligence and Data spaces. Moreover, Lea conducted interviews with innovators and researchers from Switzerland and produced interesting success stories for the SwissCore Synopsis to highlight Swiss-EU cooperation in the fields of research, innovation and education. At the end of her traineeship, she wrote three factsheets on AI, Data Spaces, Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act.

Gladly, the team was allowed to come to the office without a mandatory home office when Lea arrived in Brussels. She enjoyed her time in Brussels and all the interesting things she learned about Swiss-EU relations and far beyond.

“I will return to Switzerland with a deepened understanding of the EU, the meaning of a non-associated Switzerland and a clearer vision of my future career. Thank you, SwissCore!”
