Simon Marti, future SwissCore Head of Office

It is our great pleasure to announce the appointment of Simon Marti as the future Head of Office of SwissCore.

Simon will take up his duties on 17 June in Brussels and will have an overlap of two weeks with Martin Müller, who will leave his position on 30 June, at the end of his contract.

Simon is currently the Head of the Office of Science, Technology and Higher Education at the Embassy of Switzerland in the United States. Until summer 2016, he worked with the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation in Bern, as a Project Manager in Education Management and Research. Previously, he conducted postdoctoral research at Columbia University in New York (Fellowship by the Swiss National Science Foundation) and worked for the European Parliament and for the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration, among others. He is a political scientist and holds a Ph.D. in Swiss-European relations from the University of Basel and a M.A. from the University of Bern. Before entering academia, he has started out on a vocational education and training pathway.
