After five year in Brussels, we bid farewell to Laurin Reding, Head of Office at SwissCore, who will return to working on Erasmus+.
“Five years in Brussels and at SwissCore: starting from the depths of the COVID-19 lockdowns and the breakdown in Swiss–EU relations in 2021 all the way to Switzerland’s return to full participation in European programmes and sunny summertimes.
My time at SwissCore has been a rollercoaster: occasionally daunting, often intense, but always full of positive energy, excitement and unexpected turns. Most importantly, it brought remarkable people into my life. A heartfelt thank you to all the colleagues and friends who made the journey so worthwhile, and especially to the fantastic SwissCore team for its trust, commitment and support.
Switzerland and Europe share a continent and a geographic destiny. We are connected by mountains and rivers, tunnels and railways, common challenges and, above all, people. I was fortunate to work precisely at this intersection: bringing Swiss and European colleagues together in education, research and innovation. Representing Swiss interests in Brussels also taught me that progress is never linear nor straightforward. It takes patience, creativity and a bit of courage.
As I now return to the world of Erasmus+, I leave you in the very capable hands of my SwissCore colleagues. I can highly recommend working with us and trusting the excellence and dedication of our team. SwissCore’s role as a bridge between Switzerland and Europe remains indispensable.”
