Goodbye, Elisa!

After 8 months, SwissCore bids farewell to Elisa.

At the time of her entry, Elisa was completing her Master’s degree in European Global Studies at the University of Basel. Elisa has been part of our team since February when she joined as a Trainee for Research for the duration of six months. She came to Brussels with the hope to gather work experience and deepen her knowledge on European Research Policy. During her time at SwissCore, she followed EU digital policy with a special focus on artificial intelligence and the implications for research and innovation (R&I). In addition, Elisa conducted interviews with researchers and innovators for Switzerland and beyond and produced interesting and convincing success stories for the SwissCore Synopsis to highlight Swiss-EU cooperation in education, research and innovation. At the end of her traineeship, she produced an overview report on the latest developments in AI.

Following the end of her traineeship, Elisa extended her time in Brussels as a Junior European Advisor for the duration of two months. During that time, Elisa supported SwissCore by partly covering European education policy and supporting the introduction of our new European Advisor for Education, Rahel Gruber (see SwissCore article).

She will now be returning to Basel in order to complete her Master’s degree. Despite the challenging circumstances with the Covid-19 crisis, Elisa showed great endurance and flexibility. It was a real pleasure to work with Elisa and we wish her all the best for her future.
