Our Head of Office, Martin Müller, leaves the office by the end of this June. He has already handed over his tasks to our new Head, Simon Marti.
Martin Müller joined SwissCore in May 2012 as a European Advisor for Research. He became Co-Head of the Office, in 2016, together with Florence Balthasar, and acted as part of a wonderful and much appreciated leadership team. When Florence left SwissCore in October 2018, he took over all responsibilities as Head and continued to lead the team in a phase during which the EU has been designing its next multi-annual financial framework and its knowledge programmes (and is seeking to agree on an institutionalised approach to Swiss-EU relations). His experience, collegiality and positive attitude have been very helpful for the team and our work.
As of this September, Martin will take up a new position as Strategic Engagement Lead at Frontiers, the open access publisher, at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland. He will thus be able to contribute his knowledge on open access and open science to the global knowledge landscape, and continue hopefully to keep links to the European policy debates in the domain.
Martin thanks the funders as well as the partners and colleagues, both in Switzerland, Brussels and Europe, for the excellent collaboration during the past years.
