After 4.5 years at SwissCore, I will leave the team and Brussels by mid-July. A big ‘thank you’ for the excellent collaboration over the past years.
In my role as European Advisor for Education, I followed policy developments in all fields of education, from early childhood education and care to higher education and vocational education and training, as well as developments of the EU funding programmes relevant to these fields, mainly Erasmus+. I was thrilled, for example, by the ‘birth’ of the European Universities initiative in 2017 and enjoyed the many discussions we had on the issue, be it within the IGLO Working Group on Higher Education or with stakeholders in Switzerland.
It was fantastic to work with so many different, committed people, covering all the facets of education and training, in Brussels and Switzerland, and I would like to thank all of you for the great collaboration. With COVID-19 still around, it might be difficult to say goodbye in flesh and blood to many of my Brussels-based colleagues, and I hope all the more that we can stay in touch! I also look very much forward to continuing the collaboration with many Swiss actors: As of August, I will join the team of Movetia, the Swiss agency for Exchange and Mobility in education and training, in Switzerland.
Finally, I would like to wish all the best to the incoming Education Advisor at SwissCore. I hope that the person will be welcomed as warmly as I was in the different networks and communities. Stay tuned: You can expect to learn more about the new SwissCore staff members in one of the next Synopsis newsletters!
