IGLO Open – Sustainable Development Goals

Maxime Schoch presented her research project on R&I contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals.

The presentation on the research project ‘Implementing the Agenda 2030 – How can Research and Innovation contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals?’ focused on the following aspects:

• What action has the European Union taken on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) so far?
• How are the SDGs covered in the new framework programme for research and innovation (R&I), Horizon Europe?

In addition, Thomas Arnold, the Adviser for SDGs at the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), gave an input on how the SDGs played a role in shaping the new organisation of DG RTD.

For her research, Maxime Schoch conducted a thorough document analysis and several interviews with European Commission officials and European R&I stakeholders.
