SUMMARY:Swiss Science Briefing: Eyes on Water
DESCRIPTION:Image: Floating LéXPLORE lake laboratory – © Jenny Maner\, Eawag \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Briefing was co-organised by the Mission of Switzerland to the EU\, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag) and SwissCore\, with contributions from the European Commission\, the European Space Agency (ESA)\, and other European partners\, such as Wetsus. \n\n\n\nWater is emerging as one of the most strategic resources of the 21st century\, it also becomes a powerful entry point to science diplomacy. We discussed how cutting‑edge research and international cooperation advance our understanding\, strengthen resilience\, and support science diplomacy in practice. The European Commission and ESA outlined key instruments\, programmes and future directions\, complemented by insights from leading science institutions. \n\n\n\nThe briefing was set in the context of the framework of the EU Water Resilience Strategy\, European initiatives under Horizon Europe\, and the European Commission’s ongoing work on science diplomacy\, including the upcoming Council Recommendations. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDetailed programme: here \n\n\n\nSummary of the event: here \n\n\n\nEvent slideshow: here \n\n\n\nSupplementary info on science diplomacy: here
