SUMMARY:EduCafé on STEM education
DESCRIPTION:Together with the Czech Liaison Office (CZELO) and the Representation of the South Moravian Region to the EU\, SwissCore organises a new edition of the EduCafé. \n\n\n\nThis event will take place on Tuesday\, 14 April from 17:30 at ISELP (Boulevard de Waterloo 31\, 1000 Brussels). \n\n\n\nThe EduCafé will address a shared European challenge: How to strengthen STEM education and attract talent in order to ensure success in a future knowledge- and innovation-based economy? Recent national and European discussions have confirmed a broad consensus on the urgency of this issue. The discussion will be guided by several key questions: How can we motivate young people to choose STEM pathways and succeed in them? And how can universities and other educational institutions adapt their educational offer\, including study programmes and training opportunities\, to respond to the current needs of the European economy in key strategic sectors? \n\n\n\nSpeakers for this edition will be Ms Lena Dändliker\, Head of the Swiss Education Lab at the Chair of Education Systems at ETH Zurich\, whose research focuses on educational processes and their impact on individuals\, the economy\, and society\, with a particular emphasis on STEM education. We are also pleased to welcome Ms Mariana Tesařová\, Head of Internationalisation at Brno University of Technology (BUT)\, where she works to strengthen the international dimension of STEM education and research and to link international cooperation with broader EU priorities in innovation and skills development. Joining them will be Ms Chiara Colella from DG EAC (European Commission)\, who currently contributes to the implementation of STEM education and skills initiatives within the European Education Area. The evening will be moderated by Mr David Chvála (CZELO). After the discussion\, there will be time for an informal networking with refreshments. \n\n\n\nTo confirm your participation please register via this form.
