Mobility and Training
As one of the cornerstones of the ERA, the European Commission encourages the mobility of researchers within Europe and beyond, to ensure the free flow of scientific know-how and the exchange of good practices in research.
The mobility and career development of scientists in early career stages is supported under FP7 through the Marie Curie Actions. This specific programme includes a range of instruments aimed at different career stages: the training networks for initial training, the individual mobility grants for career development and exchange, and finally the reintegration grants for returning to Europe after a training phase abroad.
These career-oriented instruments are complemented by the co-funding of national mobility programmes for researchers and a programme for international staff exchange.
