Who are we and who are SwissCore's main partners and co-funders?

SwissCore (Contact Office for European Research, Innovation and Education) is the platform for European research and the contact office in Brussels of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), of the State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER) and of the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology (OPET). The office is also linked to the Euresearch information network. SwissCore’s mission is to monitor the latest developments in European research, innovation and education programmes, to support Swiss researchers in their participation in European research programmes and to advise them when networking in Brussels.

How can I book a meeting room and what does SwissCore provide?

In order to reserve a meeting room or office space, please complete the reservation form and return it to SwissCore:

SwissCore provides:
- Guest offices equipped with computer, internet/email access
- Refreshments as well as coffee and tea
- Working lunches are permitted (to be announced in advance) but SwissCore cannot pay for any meal held in the office

No charge is made for using the rooms/offices

The meeting rooms and offices must be booked in advance and are available during opening hours of the office (09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday)

How can I attend SwissCore events?

SwissCore events can be attended upon invitation, but if you are interested in joining a particular event, please contact SwissCore via the following email address: infodesk@swisscore.org

Are there other offices around the world representing Swiss science?

The Swiss State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER) and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) run a network of science and technology outposts called Swissnex. These offices are located in Boston, San Francisco, Shanghai and Singapore and aim at bridging knowledge and competences in science, higher education, art and innovation between Switzerland and the regions surrounding the offices’ locations.

Is there a network in Switzerland providing information on European Research?

Euresearch informs researchers in Switzerland about European Research and is mandated by the State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER). Euresearch consists of a network of Regional offices located at the universities and a Head Office in Berne.

What is IGLO and who are its members?

IGLO is an informal association of Brussels-based non-profit R&D Liaison Offices. The aim of IGLO is to facilitate and enhance the interaction, information exchange and co-operation between its members, their national research systems and the European institutions on issues related to EU RTD, in particular, the Framework Programme.

Where do I find information regarding European research?

The 7th Framework Programme (FP7) for research and technological development is the European Union’s main instrument for funding research in Europe. FP7, which runs from 2007 to 2013, is the successor of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), and is the result of years of consultation with the scientific community, research and policy making institutions, and other interested parties.
